Health And Personal Image: Your Body Inside And Out

 While I have brought up this discussion before, apparently it needs to be addressed further. This statement is purely my overwrought thoughts because I can not comprehend why people let themselves go or on purpose neglect their health. I do not believe it should be plastered on billboards, "Your appearance and image is a reflection of who you are" It shows up in your body and permeates your overall health.  It is the face of your ever being that is present on a day-to-day basis; Regardless of your job, class, or status. Cleanliness may be next to Godliness and maybe not all have been born with the cover girl/GQ face, perfect DNA, and stellar genetics but what God has blessed you with, mind body, and soul, it should not be neglected {It is important that we strive daily to keep our temples fit. This includes being intentional about what we will and won't allow our bodies to eat, drink and do (1 Corinthians 10:31).}

Indulgence falls upon all of us. We are human, To put it mildly, developing negative habits and routines while disregarding clear warning signs is a major form of self-disrespect. General health and hygiene were written and taught that many have forgotten but if people continue to live out these indulgences, it eventually will catch up to and the outcome is typically fatal. If these facts are staring anyone in the face, I am asking you to look in the mirror and examine your "why" and then scrutinize your "willpower" Which of the two is greater?

There are many reasons why people might refuse to work on themselves, and these reasons can vary depending on the individual's circumstances and experiences.

Fear: Sometimes people are afraid of what they might discover about themselves if they engage in self-reflection or self-improvement. They may be afraid of facing their own flaws or weaknesses, or they may be afraid of making changes that could be uncomfortable or difficult.

Lack of awareness: Some people may not be aware that they need to work on themselves or may not understand how to go about it. They may be stuck in old habits or patterns of thinking that prevent them from recognizing the need for personal growth.

Resistance to change: Change can be difficult and uncomfortable, and some people may resist working on themselves because they don't want to face the discomfort or uncertainty that can come with it. They may prefer to stay in their comfort zone and avoid the risks that come with personal growth.

Lack of motivation: Personal growth requires effort and commitment, and some people may lack the motivation or energy to invest in themselves. They may feel overwhelmed by other demands on their time and energy or may simply not see the value in investing in themselves.

External factors: Sometimes people are prevented from working on themselves due to external factors such as financial constraints, lack of support from friends or family, or societal pressures. These external factors can make it difficult or impossible for individuals to focus on their own personal growth.

Nonetheless, an overall health issue due to neglect affects many areas of life. All the while the human race is craving healthy intimate relationships; someone who refuses to work on their overall health, appearance, and bodily image is in direct conflict with desire and ability. As we age the body still needs to function actively if not sexually. Sexual health is important as we age for several reasons:

Physical health: Sexual activity and intimacy can have physical health benefits, such as improving cardiovascular health, boosting immunity, and reducing the risk of certain cancers.

Mental health: Maintaining a healthy sex life can contribute to overall mental well-being, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. It can also improve self-esteem and body image.

Relationships: Sexual intimacy can help strengthen emotional bonds and communication between partners, leading to more fulfilling relationships.

Quality of life: A satisfying sex life can enhance the quality of life and overall satisfaction with aging.

Hormonal changes: As we age, hormonal changes can affect sexual desire and function. Addressing these changes through medical interventions or lifestyle adjustments can improve sexual health

Look at almost 63, I do not have all the answers but I can tell you from a woman's point of view and from the mouths of other women I have had these conversations with as their life coach. Men are not the only visual ones! Hormones and old bones, muscles that don't move as quickly are no excuse for not personally being accountable for your partner, spouse or significant other who needs to view you romantically or sexually. And if there is a decline in health and neglect due to whatever reason... sickness has an odor. The poison that has infiltrated the body and organs, seeps through the pores. No amount of mouthwash, cologne or fresh air diminishes the ill smell.

This goes beyond showering and or being comfortable with each other wearing the same sweats for days on end or women who go braless and don't wash their hair for 4 days... (which I do not understand either) Maybe I was taught differently; comfortable and familiar or not... PUT YOURSELF TOGETHER AND MAKE YOURSELF PRESENTABLE! Be accountable for your personal health, appearance, and hygiene!!!! It is the lack of effort on this person's part that says "I do not care enough about myself so therefore why should I do it for you!" Again as a life coach, I will go down deep this rabbit hole making you understand how depression really works and resides well within you!

I never thought at this point in my life I would need to address this issue to the masses. If you do not have your health, you have nothing! Additionally, The physical body relies on brain function (stimulation) and if it is distorted out of rigid stubbornness it affects not only you but everyone around you... and those people (around)just give up and learn to watch far from the sidelines because, in the long run, it is not going to destroy their view of vitality and what a long happy life looks like with someone who has a deep concern for image, appearance and health!
