It's Not All Black and White and There Are Certain Boundaries
It's not all black and white and there are certain boundaries! Any fool rushes into quick decisions without understanding the full repercussions of the situation in its whole entirety! There are people willing to commit too fast and there are the ones that need to stay on the fence line and see how it plays out! (this applies to both personal and business)
I can give textbook examples, case studies... or use my own personal story! The willingness to commit is a huge undertaking. All people are not equipped the same. Some constantly will have their toe in the water testing but still be looking on the shore for a better option... a different choice.
I have very many irons currently in my fire. I am implementing business practices and have my toes twinkling in many directions. (my head though does not twist backwards so I have no need to look to the shore) I am focusing on the here and now! The only willingness I have to commit to is the pizza I "might" have for dinner! Putting all my apples in a cart is taking place slowly one apple at a time! My personal stance on a pledge is at arm's length because I know what needs to be done, the steps I need to take for me, in order for down the line... to make any long-term decision. My current outlook, If it is not broke... I have no need to fix it! I am not about to jump into anything without some sensible reasonable approach! My heart and brain are in agreement on that!
Some people believe in the idea they have to be with someone to be complete. That their existence cannot be without someone and I mean anyone (they will jump at the first chance with anyone that promises or offers something)... It takes time to understand the complexity of each and the idiosyncrasies that hide deep within one's psyche! Best friends don't instantaneously happen just like a business success does not happen overnight! Gradually it grows, it clicks, and all the pieces fall into place or fall by the wayside. Not all ideas are good ideas... and hypothetically speaking, those that jump into anything can almost guarantee some sort of disaster and or a failure of the worse kind. Divorce rates are high, to begin with for first marriages, it's even higher for second marriages... and if there is a third, You need your head examined! Business' fail within the first 5 years, if not sooner if there is not a concrete plan on; Who you are, What your service is and or product? Who is your market and how do you plan to reach them? Location location location... and that applies to both scenarios.
If you work in the city, odds are you ain't moving to the country and if you live in the country, why in the hell would you want to come to the city! Its one of those, it a nice place to visit but other than that... it ain't what it used to be! I say this because I want to move to the country. I want that hunk of land where the cows and horses roam... where I can love and live in peace. It's the place I want to plant roots... when the time is conducive and the plan has been long thought out!
Having my own business working from my home I have the intent of moving and it, the biz goes with me. My people, my target market is a client base from internet marketing and word of mouth where customers can reach me via my website and or email. When though, your customer base is city wide... it ain't gonna follow you out of the confines of the concrete jungle. Logistics and gravity! What is possible and realistically feasible! It is not rocket science. It's strategic planning in the making for what can be on the road up ahead.
I am amazed at people that jump into anything without thinking about all whats in that apple cart and who is pushing it and how upset that cart is going to be when they realized what choice they just made. Upsetting the whole damn cart and everyone involved during the bumpy ride!
Planning and goals are separate. Planning is a long-term process with steps to achieve a successful outcome... the goal! The goal... what is at the end of the process that you saw grow from the get-go! Initial phases that take steps growing on to a platform building solid relationships! Both in personal and business!!!
Your customer ain't gonna buy from you if there is no relationship that was gradually built and that romp you had with that new person that you claim to be WHATEVER will completely lose interest when they realize you have had no real concept of what it takes to build the relationship with working towards the outcome of gaining a best friend!
Those that jump into anything are also quick to throw it away! It is the dixie cup syndrome. It was useful for a while... but now it ain't and I can replace it with another! When you jump into commitments without fully understanding the consequences and or the benefits! Signing on any dotted line without reading the fine print... can be detrimental one's health and well being. Stuck is stuck... and being taken for everything you had when you made a choice too quickly.
