Return On Interest...POV
I apply my Life coaching skills in my everyday life, regardless of which hat I am wearing for the day. Let me ask, What's the point? What has been proven? What have you learned? And with all that, where are you finding yourself? How did all that work out for you? (Here is your mirror.) #reflect Now tell me how you feel and what is actually happening (with you?) The mask has fallen, and the pretense is D-O-N-E #LIFECOACHING101
It is June 13, we are almost dab-smack in the middle of the month. The mildest and rainiest June STL has seen in years. Today has a Wisconsin fall feel. I am ok with it. It can rain. Possibly it will wash away whatever misery Missouri seems to harbor. The mood of most is complacent, going through the motions, working with what's in front of them, and not happy or content with any of it, and it's a meaningless disposition. I feel it and I see it everywhere. The discontent from life is silent screaming, and no one is paying attention because the tunnel vision of each individual person is narrowly focused on getting to the other side. The problem is that no one knows what's on the other side. The quiet suffering is seeping out in actions and behavior... no one is happy! I emphasize ... NO ONE!
This week at my gig, pleasantly, working my regular hours. I have stated Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sunday night for NOW! That's it! Last week's 6 days did me in. My health comes first! My mental clarity comes second, and these old bones, knees, hip, and shoulder can not do any more than the above-stated days. Rejoicing, I am thankful for the new food runner! Hallelujah, praise Jesus, and thank God, the upper-level management agreed to it; it was needed. I can song and dance you to death, in place, behind the bar, and at your table pleasantly while bringing you your drinks, making small talk, and chiming in on your conversation to add interest, but the back and forth of an extra 40lbs on my shoulder, too much. #ImOld
Let me take my photos, write some spiffy word-spin for social media, and let me please let me talk you to death while force feeding you the special. That I am great at! Next week, I will bring in my actual camera and get behind-the-scenes shots. It is the inner workings of any industry that need to be brought forth and put in front of the general consumer's eyes. Especially when trying to rebrand. The old days of guerrilla marketing DO NOT WORK. And anyone trying to implement that configuration will get doors shut faster than you can say, " I'll be right back with your waters." Times have changed... DRASTICALLY.
Guerrilla Marketing (Old School)
Definition:
Guerrilla marketing is a low-cost, high-impact strategy that uses unconventional tactics to grab public attention—often in-person, spontaneous, or “street-level.”
Examples:
-
Flash mobs
-
Sticker bombs or chalk art in public spaces
-
Pop-up events with surprise giveaways
-
Costumed brand ambassadors in crowded places
-
Car wraps, bar coasters, sidewalk stunts
Purpose:
-
Stir buzz
-
Create a memorable moment
-
Go viral through word-of-mouth or local press
When It Works:
-
Small/local brands with little budget
-
Youth-centered audiences
-
When the execution is clever, original, and relevant
Where It Fails Today:
-
Feels outdated if it’s not digitally integrated
-
Can appear desperate, tone-deaf, or cheap
-
Today’s consumers expect depth, authenticity, and connection—not just a spectacle
