CARVING MY NICHE IN THIS WORLD

For the love of staying busy, I don't know how to describe this any better. Projects and the avoidance of corporate anything.

I do and will say, my small interaction with my photography clients are creatively motivating. There is an art to busy-ness. I use tact and finesse when dealing with potential customers. To be able to find your niche and market your goods and yourself, making your talents a wanted, no a needed hot commodity! http://kitryn-marie.weebly.com Yes, there is an art to the whole deal! There are no learning curves... you put yourself out there hoping and praying with confidence in yourself with great effort and ability, you are going to get the job and do it well.

Marketing is such an integral part of all business but the biggest factor in all of it is, what do you do that makes someone want you? What is it about your talents and craft that stands above the other Jill, Sam and Max? Being good at one thing no longer is good enough! You must master the multi-tasking of many things pertaining to your money making projects.

Right now my house, my workshop, my studio looks like Santa and a gaggle of elves have left projects for me to finish. I have ideas... and when I get an idea, I set up. I put in order methodically, and strategically think how is this going to work. How is this going to play out? and how in the world can I market this and me and see it all come to fruition? I am more than a hobby enthusiast... I am an artist trying to find her way and make a dollar or $20.00 along the way. (Teasingly I tell my kids, see all those paintings! That's your inheritance! Be careful with the goods!) Truthfully I don't know where I'm going with any of this stuff... other than like I said I have ideas! and you have to start somewhere!

Now the real dreamer in me, my entrepreneurial spirit says, "if I only had a shop, a storefront and real working studio to teach. A room for backdrops (photography) A small 800 sq ft facility. That sold coffee... I could make that work!!!! Although, the pipe dreamer in me says, "If I only had a few 20 acres, with my horses, beautiful photo spots and a real working guest house completely equipped with a kitchen and work tables! An art retreat. Where guest could come and stay and learn for days at a time" Yes, I have plenty ideas!!!! Probably most of all I just want a place to photograph, teach, instruct, create and inspire. I am the better part of me when I am teaching and I have a camera in my hand!

Glue, glitter, scissors, paper, canvas/wood, paint and camera!( and my horses! Don't forget the love of my ponies!) Now that is what gets this girls blood boiling! Want to find a way to my heart... shower me with supplies! ;) tell me to grab the camera and throw in a horse! LOL

It's frustrating to have all these ideas and no place for them to land. It goes back to marketing. What do I have to SELL that someone wants? It's trial and error... lots of mistakes and honing in on what works for each individual. Selling yourself... the better part of your talent and pricing yourself in the box!

I try to price myself accordingly. KM Designs and Photography, My photo packages start at $125.00 (basic headshots). **3-4 outfits 2-3 hours time and location $250.00. **Travel, location, full on shoot etc... $325.00 + per day All photos are edited and returned within a 2-3 week period. All photos belong to client and I ask that I may use for my portfolio use with a link to their site. (It's a full circle operation and vice verse they give me full credits)

When I teach, I charge $40.00 per person for 3-4 hours of a class. I give full opportunity for the individual to express their creative side. I provide all supplies and I instruct on a theme. I do NOT teach cookie cutter art where everyone's is the same! I am not like one of those wine and do like everyone else! I am instructing art and all that pertains. Color movement, brush stroke, composition... expression! Everyone has some kind of hidden talent. It just takes the correct instruction for creativity to come out! (God I love to teach!!!!)

I love to decorate... I sometimes forget how I love to put things together and see how it all blends when I'm done. I use to love to paint murals on walls... I love to sew. That glorious machine! I know I hear a choir of angels when I break that thing out! To tell the truth, every night before I go to bed, I get out my iPad and study PINTEREST. https://www.pinterest.com/kitrynmarie The ideas flourish and I think... YES, I CAN DO THAT!!! I encourage myself and tell myself, I AM A HOT COMMODITY THAT SOMEONE WANTS! I HAVE OODLES OF TALENT!

More than a hobbyist... I am a full on commerce making machine trying to find a place, CARVING MY NICHE IN THIS WORLD in this world. http://kitryn-marie.weebly.com

It does not take a lot to have an idea... It takes a lot of bravery though to put it all in motion and watch it all take off one idea at a time! Anyone can sit at a desk and work 9-5! (blah, boring...COMMON) Not everyone can say I am working artist and I make money at it... a penny earned is a penny saved! I may chase down that penny but I am doing it and hope with it all I am inspiring someone! and leaving my mark!

It started somewhere ... and I continue on that path! That artist retreat may happen! One never knows what the universe has in store! Every person you ever meet is a third person away! if you want it bad enough the universe conspires to make it happen! And when a woman wants anything... she usually gets it! Horse and all!
