It Comes Down To this
I have come to the realization that my expectations towards what I see for my life is unrealistic TO MANY! My simple 3-7-13 acre dream, raising a few 3 head of cattle, rescuing horses and rehabilitating them, and having chickens and some french geese to roam freely is obscure: Of course, choosing to Need a donkey to secure the property is insane, as goats add to the merriment seems ludicrous to those that have been told by society...just work your 9-5 and grocery shop like everyone else this is what we have deemed for you, so follow the orders! I have had this dream as far back as I can remember! As a kid, my gram would say, "Kit we are city people. We do not have farms!
As I approach the arousing age of 62, the dream still holds! Nothing has changed! Except, Well I now own a horse! I put the horse before the cart knowing the rest will follow! I see it very clearly. I can feel it down deep within my soul. I can describe it down to the structures, beams, and nails. I can smell the land...it is where I will call home!
I seriously had thought the last person with who I was involved understood this assignment. He would go off to his routine embedded job by day while leaving me to do farm chores, set up my storefront in my she building; where there I would hold my art and biz coaching classes, sell my merchandise and in any spare time I would go off to pour coffee and serve pancakes to the masses. He then would come home and finish what I could not do leaving other tasks to finish on the weekends. Sipping coffee happily on our porch swing admiring the lay of the land and giving thanks for blessings; watching the sun, as it rose and set! {apparently, communication wires got crossed through Budweisers and wine as we talked.} It is hard to forgive people who string you along.
There is a serious commitment to taking on such endeavors. Being attached to property with livestock is a full time 24/7 position but as I have said, " create a life you do not need a vacation from" Create the life you desire and you will love your life for all the hard efforts you have brought to fruition because of a dream. Love what you do you and the money always follows.
I will not dog a man too much stuck in rigid fear and who does not know any better than the orders given because that is always been a safe bet. Work for the man, take breaks when they say, break your body as assignments are doled out til the point exhaustion has set in and by all means do not forget to pick up your paycheck! Show up where you have signed your ambitions away and please do not forget, you are only allowed to work in the allotted area. Don't you even dare to think to cross the boundary to go work elsewhere! Security in all measures, right?
There is freedom in knowing no matter your age, the craft, or talent you have, you can do for yourself or for anyone else, if you have the balls and the desire to create a life elsewhere. Imagine thinking for yourself, putting a plan in motion on a plot of land watching a dream come to life as you sift through the mud and muck driving a tractor on a dirt road you own! Imagine going off to do a job independently, solo entrepreneur, or contractor if you may, knowing you will be coming home to a piece of the pie you built from the ground up! I imagine when people get sick and tired of a lifetime of orders before it's too late they will make the jump but then again people driven by fear don't have a set of balls just a case of beer. I suppose liquid courage is better than none!
I can handle 3 acres on my own. I have it measured out to 3 football fields including the end zones. Rotate pastures and have a round pen attached to a makeshift barn that can and will house 6 horses. Board 3 at 400.00 a mos owners must supply their own feed and hay. Other 3 stalls... to be used for the rescue and rehabilitation. Of course, my Ruby girl gets a space of her own! The cows will come the following spring after calving season. 3 cows per 1 acre. doable! The trick will be do not get attached! Yeah right... I'm in process of learning how chickens work and what is needed for them to produce. A sturdy coup and laying boxes and a bunch of jungle gym-type structure to give them something to climb on for fun! Of course all fenced in an area in the backyard separate from #ohbruce and #sweetsug
Like I said, I see it. I can feel it and it is going to happen ... this spring I will start actively searching. My dream will continue as I launch a new line of merchandise this March. I am continuing to teach my art classes and I am gathering new materials for my life and biz coaching. I will start up again my photography! Photography is what gets me out on the road! It's been a haze but the fog has lifted and I will build my empire just like originally planned! It is more than ok that I am doing it by myself! A person does not know how strong they are till strong is the only choice for change they have!
Come along on this journey! It'll be fun... you'll think my tractor is sexy!
Be Happy! Be Blessed!
