What A Difference A Day Can Make

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday this time, we were knee deep driving lost in Mississippi! (an epic GPS fail) The day before, we were poolside planning our move into our next location and the day before that we were beachside combing the shore for pretty bobbles that washed up from the gulf... and days before that we were walking a museum learning about WW2 history,  riding a trolley in NOLA fighting humidity and dodging a hurricane! Scowering every inch of the French Quarters indulging in seafood that you only see on TV, avoiding the beggars, trying to overlook the homeless and seeking ways to breathe something other than some smell I can not even describe! Yes, what a difference a day makes!

Never take the day for granted! Appreciate each step at every moment. Take in every sight, every breath and every hug and or kiss that comes your way! You never know what adventure lies ahead if you never get off the only street you know! As a photographer, I have learned to seek out what the average eye fails to even view. "It is not what you see but what you do not see that changes the perspective of it all" In this life, there are things, PEOPLE, and places that get taken for granted. This so-called life that we live is meant to be seen, touched and lived looking at everything with wonder and awe!

I have yet to decipher my favorite moment during the 8-day trip only because there were so many moments that were a first and a once in a lifetime opportunity. (Even stopping in Memphis searching for Elvis' house. I was sure we could drive right up! LOL, NOT!!!!) I took in everything I could possibly take in... breathing in every scent (even the one I can not find words for) so I would not miss one iota of an experience.

Experiences shape us and they allow us to feel something we would have never been able to feel before. Each day I pretended as if I was moving there! I needed to ask everyone EVERYTHING, I could possibly think of! Are you a native of___________? How long have you been here? Why did you move here? What about the weather? Why are there so many homeless? What is that SMELL? AND WHY? What do you suggest? What is your favorite? (The food)

When at the beach,  we saw a Corvette competition. When scanning the Gulf waters, I needed to know more! Sharks? Where are they? (and kindly asked if they could please go elsewhere while I am here!) I needed to taste the salty gulf! I needed to feel the waves crash upon me. I thought of the movie Grease (first scene) and from Here to Eternity. (All that sand... and places it need not be in!) I needed to bury my feet and legs in the sand and then exfoliate... (better than a pedicure bought!) I searched and dug for shells... I watched the pelicans and seagulls. ( I also had to watch for venomous snakes... YIKES and kept a vigilant eye out for GATORS!) We got to take a cruise to watch the dolphins at sunset. We got up and close to the Coast Guards... I watched waves and wakes, the rich and the not so famous in action on their high dollar boats! Wondering and asking, How do these people do this? Could I make a living here? Where do you go when you are surrounded by water and a hurricane is coming? The who, what, where and when... A true journalist!!! All I kept thinking is; I can not wait to write and post these fabulous pictures! A dream... I (we) for 8 days lived a glorious real-life dream. (We live a charmed life! All I can say!) I want to go back and I want to "resort" differently next time! We drove the local neighborhoods and we played tourist in the high dollar dunes! We ate the best of food the waters could deliver! I live a fabulous life!

Yes, realty calls and a person needs to get back to the nitty gritty so commerce can take a seat and industry can continue so opportunities like this can flourish for the next time! I never in my life ever thought, I would be able to do this! I took a chance and I closed my eyes to what I used to know and opened them in a new world where health and heart take hands and hold tight! I speak my truth. I talk my walk and I walk my talk! I do the "hustle" and I do the gig... so these opportunities happen! I am fortunate that my guy wants the same life and he does whatever he can to see that we live this life I have dreamed of. I saw it 5 years ago! I saw this life in my 3rd eye... that is why I teach this valuable lesson in my coaching sessions! You are the only one that can limit your possibilities! If you stay stuck hiding behind what someone else says you have to do... you won't get any farther from your front porch! For someone to isolate and douse your dreams is to live a substandard life. Shame on the person who can not envision life in another fashion! "Just because this is all you know; that does not mean, this is all there is!" Get out of your tunnel-visioned life!
